Resume

Vesna Bajić Stojiljković (25/5/1979) completed master and doctoral studies at the Department of Ethnomusicology at the Faculty of Music, University of Arts in Belgrade. She has a variety of interests involving preserving Serbian cultural heritage through traditional dance and music that span across ethnomusicology, 
ethnochoreology, folk dance choreography, organising cultural events and educational projects. She is the initiator of the development of the field of stage folk dance in ethnochoreology in Serbia.
 
Vesna launched the department Stage folk dance and music at the Belgrade Dance Institute where she is a head of department and teaches ethnochoreology and choreographic composition. 
In Koper, coastal city in Slovenia, she established the Academic cultural-artistic society 'Kolo' in 2007. She has been its artistic leader and choreographer until now. Her idea is to promote cultural heritage of the Balkans on different occasions in Slovenia, offering highly professional and substantial performance.

Training & Workshops

For the purpose to develope dance technique, practical skills and knowledge about Serbian and Balkan dance tradition, to acquire knowledge about choreographic-compositional principles and procedures that are used in processing traditional dances in the recognizable form of folk dance choreography.

Workshops of different scope and purposes are suitable for:

  • young and adult folk dancers, 

  • leaders of children and adult folklore groups,

  • choreographers,

  • music arrangers.
